About Acute Systems

Acute Systems was created in 1990. Our goal is to provide quality software for solving unique problems in the computer world.

History:
Our first software utility was an MS DOS program called Refont (for reformat font). It was an attempt to solve the problem of Mac and PC font incompatibility. A Windows version came later and it was renamed to Wrefont (Windows Refont). As features were added it was rewritten and named CrossFont as it is today.
Our current TransMac utility was originally called Mac-ette. It came out shortly after Refont and was for reading Mac diskettes on a PC. It was eventually rewritten for Windows and new types of media were supported as they came out (CD/DVD, Hard Drive, Zip, USB Thumb, etc.).
Things have changed drastically from the early days but we are still committed to providing quality software.
